The National Sporting Heritage Day was established in 2014 to raise awareness of the rich sporting heritage that exists in the UK.

It aims to inspire and support all those that know about, own, or manage sporting heritage collections to provide greater access and understanding to as many people as possible.

The Organisation

The National Sporting Heritage Day is managed by Sporting Heritage Community Interest Company (Company Number 8190081). Sporting Heritage CIC was established by Justine and Kevin Reilly to support the knowledge, understanding, preservation of, and access to, sporting heritage both nationally and internationally.

The Sporting Heritage CIC works in partnership with the Sport in Museums Network and the Sporting Heritage Learning Group (SHLG), and with representatives from museums, archives, community and learning organisations.
